Dear Members,

    The health, both environmental and economic, of Northern California depends heavily on wise use of our natural resources. Perhaps the most important of those is water because without water there is no life. History has shown us what can happen when water is excessively drained from a region: consider the story of the Owens Valley in Inyo County, CA.

    The Oroville Area Chamber takes an active interest not only in the present economy of our region, but in the future as well. With this page on water issues, it is our goal to achieve an informed public so that people in our region have a more clear understanding of how the distribution of our natural resources, such as water, impact the health and well being of our communities.
